So far, I haven't been brave enough to attempt a dismantle of my system yet, though it is almost 7 years old.

Sadly, within the last 2 weeks it's started the "freeze with artifacts" issue, so I may be forced to fix it anyway.

This is my problem on my XBox 360. It's pretty much impossible to use the eject button, it just stays stuck. But if you go through the onscreen guide to open it, it will work; but only if there's a disc inside of the XBox 360. Curse the man who forgets to leave a disc inside my 360!!!
