I'm a HUGE JRPG fan and feel like there have been very few worthwhile games in this genre this console generation. I have to say that I'm beyong excited for Ni No Kuni. It's a collaboration between Level 5 (Dark Cloud, Professor Layton, Rogue Galaxy) and Studio Ghibli (Howl's Moving Castle, Spirited Away, Ponyo).

Ni No Kuni is absolutely gorgeous looks like it could be the game to revive the genre. What do you guys think? Check out the latest trailer below. I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts 😀

The game looks absolutely incredible and I enjoy Studio Ghibli's movie...however, I am cautiously optimistic about the JRPG elements. While I enjoy those games, they sometimes become random encounter grindfests...which always stop the story for me. Hopefully the reviews with be good, or I may have to skip it.

From what I've seen in gameplay demos and trailers the battle system looks like Chrono Cross in that you can see the enemies before you fight them. Also has some Pokemon-esc elements with monsters that fight for you. I look forward to the reviews as well!
