I love both systems, but I have to go with Mega Drive, because you can't play Sonic on SNES. SNES is a home to many great games, including Dracula X, Super Metroid, Star Fox, but the 16-bit Sonic games define gaming for me. The original Japanese Alisia Dragoon is the best action game from that era in my opinion, I've played hundreds of hours.

And I'm also just a big fan of the RPG library the system had to offer. So many fantastic games! 🙂 Still enjoy the Genesis, no doubt, but SNES is my preferred system of the two.

I think its a fair statement that the SNES as the best choice then and very well liked even now, and I would agree with that, however I think recently the Genesis is more fondly remembered currently, as Sega isn't with us. as a console maker anymore. Tons of great franchises started on the Genesis.
