Ben Rowland is a Toronto-based writer, blogger and podcaster with a lifelong passion (some might say obsession) with video games. His first gaming experience was with the ColecoVision in 1983, where some of his earliest memories were of “Zaxxon” and “Donkey Kong Jr.” It was when he got his Nintendo Entertainment System in 1988 that his love of gaming really took off, and he has remained enthralled through every console generation that has come since. Ask him now, and he’ll still proclaim the Super Nintendo as the best console of all time.
Professionally, Ben does the typical 9 to 5 office job grind, but most of his time outside of that is dedicated to gaming pursuits. As of March 2012, Ben has been writing professionally for RipTen.com, an gaming website with an independent flavour, and he is an active member of the Youtube gaming community. Members of Petesgameroomforum.com might know him as a moderator and troll-fighter, someone who is not shy about wielding the banhammer when required.
Ben is also the co-host of a weekly podcast called The Radical Rascals, a very M-Rated podcast that is mainly focused on gaming, however they are known to delve into other areas. Video games, music, movies, food, drinks, cats…each episode is a random adventure, to say the least.
Favorite System: Super NES, NES, Playstation 2 and Xbox 360.
Favorite Games: Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse, Final Fantasy VI, Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Chrono Trigger.
