Our story begins on July 4th, 1985 in Bridgeport Connecticut, when Shawn “RetroGamingTube 85” Long entered the world. Exposed to the NES by his Uncle at the age of 4, a love affair with video games was created and still is strong til this day. After his Uncle gave him his NES and upgraded to a Genesis, Shawn knew he was going to play games forever. Entering the world of journalism in 2012, Shawn expanded to creating YouTube videos for Nintendo Enthusiast in 2014, one of the leading Nintendo websites. While covering some retro Nintendo things on the channel, he realized that he wanted to talk about other platforms as well, including his beloved Sega. In May 2015, he launched “RetroGamingTube 85”, with the intention on covering retro games from the past, and present with a retro gaming news show. And they say the rest is history.
