My favorite games in the DOS platform were almost *everything* published by Sierra On-Line, Apogee Software, LucasArts and Epic Megagames.

From Apogee, my biggest favorites that I have actually played:
* Commander Keen series
* Raptor: Call of the Shadows
* Wacky Wheels
* Boppin'
* Crystal Caves
* and many others...

From Sierra On-Line:
* Kings Quest series
* Dr. Brain series (Castle, Island and Lost Mind)
* Sierra Knowledge Series

From LucasArts:
* Maniac Mansion
* Zak McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders
* LOOM
* The Secret of Monkey Island
* Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
* Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis
* Sam & Max Hit the Road

From The Learning Company:
* SuperSolvers series, including:
- Operation Neptune (my favorite from this series)
- Challenge of the Ancient Empires
- OutNumbered!
- Treasure Mountain
- Midnight Rescue
- Treasure Galaxy

From Epic MegaGames:
* Epic Pinball
* Unreal Tournament
* Traffic Department 2192

Along with many others... 🙂

I really wanna do a Retrospective video on the Quest for Glory series sometime. The combination of Adventure/Puzzle & RPG is pretty unique.

Honestly, the only MS-DOS game I played as a kid was ChexQuest.

You know people still play this online? There is a source port for all the doom engine games called Zandronum which usually has one Chex Quest multiplayer server going just for laughs.

Yeah let me know how you like Daggerfall. I hear that game and Arena have the hugest world of all the elder scrolls games to date. Also daggerfall has nudity. 😮

I've played both daggerfall and arena before actually, arena is awesome but feels more like a free movement dungeon crawler think like eye of the beholder but you can move freely,and daggerfall i ran into one of the game breaking save corrupting bugs the mummies wrappings quest for the mages guild glitch,and yes there is nudity i onced walked in on a naked lady in a tavern room lol.oh and indeed daggerfall is the largest elderscrolls game even bigger than skyrim it's size is over 600 square miles skyrim is i believe 25 square miles.
