Hi Guys

Wondering if anyone can help with this...

my brother found a ps2 (that he owns)
he gave it to me, unit only no cables

when i come to try it with my ps2 cables it doesnt work
no standby light, it doesnt switch on

the system is switched on at the back

i have tried ps3 slim cables and another cable but i get the same issue

does anyone know what might be wrong with it
and how easy or hard it would be to fix

thanks

Danny

It's not getting power somehow then, make sure the switch on the back is switched to on (Can't tell you how many times I've gotten irritated and it was just that LOL!)

I've worked on PS2's and usually it's a capacitor that's gone bad, if you are going to open it be very careful the buttons beside the DVD tray are connected by a hairline thin ribbon and if you tear it then it's done for.

i'm not familiar will working on the insides of consoles

if i was to open it would i be able to tell if the capacitor has gone bad or is it a matter or replacing it and then check if it works
