Hyperkin To Release 3-in-1 Adapter for RetroN 5 on Feb. 28th
Feb. 9, 2017 (LOS ANGELES, Calif.) The RetroN 5 strikes again! The multi-generational catalog – comprised of the Master System, Game Gear and My Card – will be compatible with the RetroN 5 using Hyperkin’s new 3-in-1 Adapter, releasing Feb. 28th. By inserting it into the Genesis slot, the RetroN 5 3-in-1 adapter adds three ports for your Master System cartridges, Game Gear cartridges and even My Card (known colloquially as Master System Cards).
Retailing for $59.99 on Hyperkin Lab and Amazon, the RetroN 5 3-in-1 Adapter is basically a portal into a world that was basically Nintendo USA in the late 80s and early 90s. Games like Wonder Boy III: The Dragon’s Trap, Phantasy Star and Golvellius can now be played with ease on Hyperkin’s 10-in-1 RetroN 5 console.
“A lot of people never got to dive into Sega’s 8-bit catalog back in the day,” said Hyperkin product developer Chris Gallizzi. “This adapter is a godsend for those with broken Game Gears and a plethora of carts laying around.”
The Hyperkin RetroN 5 is a 10-in-1 HD retro gaming console, which supports NES, Famicom, SNES, Super Famicom, Genesis, Mega Drive, Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, and Master System (previously with a Power Base Converter) all in 720p HD.
