John Barrowman & Wil Wheaton Join PHXCC 2013

 

Phoenix Comicon is proud to announce that actors Wil Wheaton and John Barrowman  will be attending Comicon 2013.

“We are very excited to welcome back Wil Wheaton to Phoenix Comicon for the sixth time,” says Marketing Director Jillian Squires. “Each time is better than the last.”

“We are thrilled to welcome John Barrowman to this year’s Phoenix Comicon,” says Convention Director Matt Sorberg.

Wil Wheaton is an American actor best known for his work on the television series Star Trek: The Next Generation from 1987 to 1990. He played popular character Wesley Crusher. He first gained widespread attention in 1986 as Gordie Lachance in the film Stand by Me. He first gained widespread attention in 1986 as Gordie Lachance in Toy Soldiers. Lately, Wheaton has had a recurring role as a fictionalized version of himself on the sitcom The Big Bang Theory.

John Barrowman is a Scottish-American actor, singer, dancer, and writer is best known for his role as character Captain Jack Harkness, a time traveler from the 51st century  in the BBC science fiction drama Doctor Who from 2005 to 2010. After appearing in the theatre production of The Fix, he was nominated for the 1998 Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Musical. Most recently, Barrowman appeared as Jeremy in the 2012 film Zero Dark Thirty.

Phoenix Comicon is the signature pop culture experience of the southwest. Comicon is presenting guests and programming for hobbyists by attracting the top segments of the comics, anime, sci-fi, film, tv, and gaming industries. Entering its eleventh year, Phoenix Comicon is expected to draw over 40,000 attendees to its May 23-26, 2013 convention held at the Phoenix Convention Center and Hyatt Regency in Downtown Phoenix.
