Shadow the Hedgehog, the dark anti-hero introduced in Sonic Adventure 2, was given his own solo outing by Sega & Sonic Team in 2005. With its mature tone and heavy soundtrack, this notorious Sonic spin-off was far from the lighthearted earlier entries in the franchise and it ultimately reached meme status for its attempt at marketing to the rebellious teenage demographic. Does Shadow the Hedgehog truly deserve the mockery or is there more than meets the eye with this pistol packing platformer? Find out on this viewer requested episode of Innocent Until Proven Guilty!
Sorry for the long wait between videos, I underestimated how long it would take to complete this review, but I’m very proud of it and I think you’ll enjoy it. As I said at the conclusion, I’m now going to take a break from YouTube until late February or early March, but I’ll be back to a consistent schedule once I return. Anyway, thanks as always for watching:)

Whereas LJN Defender focuses solely on sticking up for LJN games, Innocent Until Proven Guilty takes a close examination of notoriously “bad” video games from other publishers. While my area of expertise lies in retro video game consoles from Nintendo’s NES to the Sega Genesis and beyond, IUPG will eventually dip into modern-ish gaming, with a few select Xbox 360 and Wii games being considered for “trial”.
In an average Innocent Until Proven Guilty episode, I give each defendant a fair trial, or review in this case, and bring up their redeeming and condemning qualities. After the examination is concluded, I put the game through one final breakdown, where I weigh all of the Innocent and Guilty traits against each other. After that’s finished, it’s time to give out the final verdict.
While I’m very forgiving of “bad” video games and there will never be an “execution” of a guilty party, I will give it a strict reprimand when needed. That’s IUPG in a nutshell. Watch me dish out digital justice in a snazzy looking suit coat and bow tie combo. Thanks for watching:)
Have a retro title that you’d like to see me review or a “bad” game that you’d want to see me give a fair trial on Innocent Until Proven Guilty? Feel free to suggest one in the comments.
Also, if you want to know what video games I own, I keep track of most of my collection on Nintendo Age. Feel free to consult it when making a request:
