WikiPad Coming Soon for $499 at GameStop

Recently GameStop announced that the new WikiPad gaming tablet will be available only through their stores or online store starting October 31st.  The WikiPad comes with an attachable game controller and runs off the Android  4.1 “Jelly Bean” operating system. The device will also support the Playstation Mobile platform (formally called “Playstation Suite”), and is power by an Nvidia Tegra 3 processor.

The Wikipad hardware is similar to what Google offers on the Nexus 7 without the attached controller.  The WikiPad has a Nvidia’s Tegra 3 quad-core SoC clocked at 1.4 GHz, 1 GB of DDR2 RAM, and at least 16 GB of storage.  It features a 10.1-inch IPS display with a 1280 x 800 resolution,  a 2MP camera on the front, and an 8MP camera on the back.  The WikiPad is a bit heavy for a portable gaming device, weighing 1.2 pounds.

GameStop is now taking pre-orders for the WikiPad and according to their website, every pre-orders comes with a bunch of bonuses, including an issue of Game Informer Digital, and unspecified “full-length game titles”.
