Bucciful’s Sneak Peak- The Walking Dead Video Game

So do you like The Walking dead series on AMC? If so, I’m sure you may have heard about The Walking Dead game developed by Telltale Games.  For those of you that are into something a bit more hardcore, and are a fan of first person shooters, then your only going to have to wait about a year or so.

Yes, in 2013 (hopefully) Activision, the company that has brought us some great franchises including Call of Duty, the Spider-man series, and the James Bond titles, have recently announced that they are making a Walking Dead video game based on the hit show and graphic novels.  At this time very little information is known about the game.  I have done as much digging as I can on the topic to try to bring the news here, so I shall lay out what I was able to find.  The game will be published by Activision, but developed by Terminal Reality, one of there more recent titles under Terminal Reality’s belt is Kinect Star Wars.  The game will apparently centre around Daryl Dixon and his brother Merle, as they travel across the country to try to get to Atlanta, a place that they believe to be a safe zone. We don’t know how the player will go about traveling in the game, but the player can use different means to go about getting around obstacles, such as zombies and whatever other type of enemies that they may come across in their journey.  Stealth is an option for trying to sneak by enemies, or the player can try to fight them head on by blowing up heads, and shooting off limbs etc.

According to the report given by Activision, the game will from what I can tell be a type of RPG mixed with the action of a shooter, with some stealth and horror mixed in.  The player can find other survivors that can help them along the way as well.   Or the survivors can become a greater threat than the zombies themselves.  The game sounds fun and promising, with a great blend of different styles of gameplay.  I am invisioning Fallout meets Dead Island, and throw in some Call of Duty action to make a big awesome salad that has just the right amount of bacon bites on it (which technically sounds like an amazing combo for a game, and a dream come true for most), but the big question is will it deliver?  We will have to wait and see as time goes on.  The Walking Dead doesn’t have an official release date yet, but expect it hit stores sometime in 2013 on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
