Today Nintendo announced that they will be discontinuing their Club Nintendo program in order to focus on a “new customer loyalty program” that will be announced on a later date. All coins associated with Club Nintendo will be deleted and accounts will be closed on July 1st, 2015, and Nintendo plans on releasing some new downloadable games and exclusive reward items available in limited quantities in February. In addition, as an award to those Club Nintendo members, Nintendo will be provide a free download code for Flipnote Studio 3D also in February, 2015.
Club Nintendo is Nintendo’s loyalty program and was initially launched in Europe in 2002, in Japan in 2003 and the rest of the world in 2008. See see Nintendo’s official announcement, click here:
