Okay so I still use my model scph-30001 ps2, but recently while playing ps2 format cd-rom based games it has been making a lot of noise. The majority of ps2 games I still play are DVD-roms, so I was wondering if it always made that much noise with those games or if I should be worried. I noticed it while playing Operation Genesis that while loading screens it made way more sound than it usually does, so once it loaded I reset and ejected the disc to make sure it didn't get scratched. The disc was fine but it always makes the same sounds while loading anything in the game.

It sounds like the laser is moving a lot and it is really loud. I'm not quite sure how to explain, I could post a video if it would help.
