An obscure NES platformer from Jaleco. If you mixed Bill & Ted dialogue with a fantasy story about magic, you still wouldn't fully describe the insanity that is Totally Rad.

Great review, and thanks for sharing them on the forums! I've posted this on the homepage for you. 😀

Great review as always, man! I've seen your stuff on Retroware before and I really like your approach to how you do your reviews. I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for this one!

It's time for some serious athletic action. Are you ready to go toe to toe with gladiators that look mostly like Ric Flair? Does this game capture the excitement of the popular sports game show? You better believe it!

A quest for missing map pieces, from a Green Hill clone to the moon, and a clown who will do anything, even bouncing off the skulls of bunny ear wearing ballerinas, to attain his goal. You will believe that Ronald McDonald is far more metal than Lemmy Kilmister & James Hetfield combined!

Sniper shooting, Sneaking around spotlights, Swinging through an entrance of broken glass...this isn't your grandpa's NES game! Released by Kemco-Seika (Uninvited, Deja Vu, Shadowgate), the title may sum up the entire gameplay experience, but regardless of minimal replay value, this is definitely one not to miss.

Yet another Halloween review on a game that seems to be pretty popular this season, but I guarantee that this will be one of the most unique holiday themed videos you'll ever see.

It's the one year anniversary of Cygnus Destroyer's Retro Reviews! It all started with "Bucky O'Hare", so in fitting celebration, I finally realize an idea that I've had in mind since the beginning and tackle a series of Konami games based on one of my favorite cartoons growing up. A tiny toony looney time is guaranteed for all!

I say it in the video, but I'll say it here as well: thanks to all the subscribers and viewers for your constant support. A very special thanks to Retroware and Gamester 81 for featuring my videos on the front pages of their sites. It's very greatly appreciated and a true honor. Things are just getting started for me, so look forward to many more reviews in year two.

The first episode in a Cygnus Destroyer's Retro Reviews spin-off series. As a video game publisher, LJN has been dragged through the mud since the rise of the Angry Video Game Nerd, with due justification of course. However, for as crappy as most of their NES releases are, I enjoy them, faults and all. The AVGN videos featuring those games made me fond of them and played a huge role in rekindling my love affair with vintage gaming. There are some who say they have a few LJN games that they like, but nobody is doing what I'm setting out to accomplish with this series...sticking up for the lowest of the low LJN titles, starting with one of the most despised movie tie-ins based on a beloved 80s franchise. Now if you'll excuse me, I'll be hiding behind this rock, waiting for the backlash to come. Thanks for watching!

Matt's back to take on another 80s movie franchise tie-in. If Irem's Kung-Fu mated with Super Mario Bros. 3, the resulting baby would be The Karate Kid. Released in 1987, making this one of the very first licensed property games for the console, along with Goonies II and Jaws, showing that LJN cornered the market from the beginning. Pretty much all of the trademarks from the franchise are present, so at least it has that going for it over Back To The Future. Thanks for watching and Happy Holidays!

All of the music from this video and future ones were done by Nikola. Check out his channel for awesome stereo versions of classic NES, Master System and Game Boy tunes.

The LJN Defender is back! This time, Matt takes a look at a game that hasn't been featured on the AVGN...it's The Punisher! Based on the classic Marvel Comic, like other hated LJN titles, X-Men and Wolverine. A story based around a Marine turned vigilante after his wife and kids were brutally murdered...perfect material for a video game targeted to children. Since The Nerd hasn't taken a dump over The Punisher, does that mean it's a good game? Find out in LJN Defender #3! Thanks for watching!
