Wii is such a fun system. Soo many great games with awesome local co-op potential. I know it gets dumped on for the online support, but I think the local gameplay is part of its charm. Harkens back to the time before online where you and your friends would get together and bond over some games. Passing controllers back and forth and waiting for your chance to challenge the winner.
Some of my favorite Wii games are:
Dead Space, Ghost Squad, House of the Dead, and Resident Evil light gun games

Rayman Origins
Mario Galaxy 1,2

Likewise, one cannot mention the Wii without mention Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2. Both are very great games and I have logged countless hours into each. Same goes for Super Smash Bros. Brawl. All three are incredibly great games and are essentials in any library.

Little King's Story is a hidden gem for me and if you're a fan of Pikmin and Harvest Moon, you'll love it.

Mario Kart Wii and New Super Mario Bros Wii are essential first party games and each have great quality, as they should. Finally, Donkey Kong Country Returns is a difficult but yet rewarding experience and shouldn't be passed up.

I love when developers made games for the Wii and not try to emulate something on the 360 or PS3. But for the most part they didn't sell well and it is unfortunate those kind of games died off too soon. Especially this pass year with an exception for Xenoblade and Last Story.

But my fav Wii games in no order:

Metroid Prime 3
No More Heroes 1 & 2
Madworld
Monster Hunter Tri
Super Paper Mario
Cave Story
Mario Galaxy 1 & 2
World of Goo
RE4
Boom Blox games were great
Skyward Sword
Twilight Princess
Mario Kart
DKC Returns
GoldenEye 007

And hell, Wii Sports and Resort are great too.

I play Nights once a month on my Saturn, but if I had a Wii I'd be playing the fresh one.
