I've been wondering if anyone has some epic pickup tales to tell. My best score was this bad boy at a local resale shop:

Even managed to get that sticker off with the help of some applied heat and extreme care 😉

I usually don't have these kind of finds, but the rarest thing I've found locally is the GBC Link Cable. It's rare to find it where I'm at.

A few months ago I found a CIB Vectrex at my local flea market. I opened it when I got home and found a CIB Mr. Boston Clean Sweep. This will probably be the rarest find of my game chasing career.

Other than that I found a tub full of Sega Saturn games earlier this Summer. A guy bought them in a storage auction which he paid almost nothing for so he gave me a great deal. I paid $3 per game and the tub had a Saturn at the bottom which I ended up getting for free.

Not exactly sure if this was "in the wild" but here it goes. My best find so far--> I replied to an ad for a GameCube for $5 on Kijiji (just like Craigslist but more popular in East Coast Canada for some unknown reason). Show up, sure enough GameCube for $5 with all hook-ups, copy of Super Smash Bros. inside. I ask if she has anything else. She has a whole box of stuff she got from a friend. She says, "How about $30 for the box?". I took a quick look and saw a SNES, a Genesis, a NES, and some random games. I say, "Heck yea!". It wasn't till I got home and took everything out that I found a copy of Action 52! (NES) hiding at the bottom under the Nintendo.
Also, in the box I found my rarest Genesis game to date, Jurassic Park.
I still can't believe my luck on that one.

In the wild usually means yard sale and thrift store finds. I suppose Craigslist kinda counts as well.

I'd count Craigslist as the wild. It's the same as hunting all over town at garage sales or thrift stores. The Internet just makes it easier. Plus it's not like you went to eBay and paid through the nose.

Yeah, but just because it's the Internet it's kind of in a grey area. Whether or not Craigslist is considered the wild probably differs from person to person.

So I guess Craigslist may not quite be in the wild but more like at the zoo, where as ebay is at the pet store.

Goddam! Isn't that game like impossible to find? It was only given out through some marketing campaign in the US or?
