That happened to me twice. I pulled the power from the console and powered off the gamepad. I turned it back on and it worked. I am glad this problem is not only happening got me.

I set my Miiverse to English only after some advise and it has not happened again, however my Wii U has been collecting dust for a while so it may or may not have fixed it.

P.S. Hope you are feeling better after that fall Gamester.

I returned mine. It's simply unplayable. The controller glitched a lot, a game froze a few times. I installed the huge update, but it got worse. The system would turn off with no cause right in the middle of something important. I called Nintendo and complained, they recommended to reset the system, update it again and see what happens. I ended up bricking my controller. Fuck it! I'll wait for PS4.
